Forms and the Interface

Forms and the Interface

Enhanced Navigation

The navigation bar in earlier versions of Microsoft Dynamics CRM forced users to scroll to the right to find what they needed. In Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2016, the navigation bar has been modified to include a larger number of icons, which makes it easier to work with. Below Figure shows the new navigation bar.
Themes

New to Dynamics CRM 2016 is the ability to brand the Dynamics CRM user interface with your company logo and also change some basic styles, such as using the colors of your company. You do this type of branding by using themes. To access the themes configuration, select Settings > Customizations. There, when you click the Themes option, you will see the list of available themes. To create a new theme, click New

These are the styles you can change:
  • Logo
  • Logo Tooltip
  • Navigation Bar Color
  • Navigation Bar Shelf Color
  • Header Color
  • Global Link Color
  • Selected Link Effect
  • Hover Link Effect
  • Process Control Color
  • Default Entity Color
  • Default Custom Entity Color
  • Control Shade
  • Control Border
Note:
You can have only one theme active for the entire organization. Dynamics CRM 2016 still doesn’t support custom theming to different OUs or roles.

New Forms Rendering Engine
With the release of Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2015 Update 1, Microsoft significantly increased the loading time for its forms. This version, previously known as Turbo Forms, loads forms faster and more efficiently, with little no impact to end users.

Note:
While the forms were designed to be compatible, a new dialog was added that displays script errors for unsupported customizations.

Quick Search

Microsoft Dynamics CRM now includes global search capabilities. To take advantage of Quick Search, select the magnifying glass and type in your search (which can include wildcards, such as *). Figure shows below the search results for the letter a, across entities. You can drill down into the results directly from the Quick Search results.
System administrators can configure Quick Search for up to 10 entities, including customizing the entities searched and the order in which results are presented.

Enhanced Templates

You can upload document templates, or preconfigured reports, using either Excel or Word into   Dynamics CRM.

Hierarchy Visualization

Microsoft has added a new way to look at relationships between records for accounts, campaigns, cases, contacts, opportunities, orders, products, quotes, teams, and user entities. As showed below  the hierarchy relationship visualizations.
